Federal appeals court holds cop can’t be sued personally for excessive force

A woman’s boyfriend was horsing around with her at a pool. Somebody called the cops saying it was domestic abuse. Upon leaving the pool, cops show up and arrest boyfriend despite woman’s protests and clarifications. Then another cop tackles her from behind and breaks her collarbone. This court found she can’t sue him personally. Thankfully (for my faith in human judgement, anyway) there were dissenting opinions among the judges. learn more
